The "Last Mile" Challenge
"Last Mile" is a widely used phrase that refers to the final leg of the telecommunications networks that deliver telecommunication services to retail end-users.
For well over a decade now, the internet has permeated our everyday lives. We use it to keep in touch with our friends, buy goods, manage our finances and watch hours of endless entertainment. More recently, the pandemic created an immediate requirement for online education and remote-work, and the vast divide of internet access, between densely populated versus the rural and underserved regions, was unveiled.
While almost two-thirds of the world population is now “online”, it is estimated 2.9 billion are still not connected.
The current fixed broadband solutions are costly to develop and slow to implement, even in developed countries like the United States. There is a critical need for a secure, cost effective, and rapidly deployable broadband wireless access with the following four core requirements:

Solving the Problem
The Instant! Approach
At Instant! we have designed networking software that is in turn integrated by our networking hardware partners to create Gateways for Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) networks. We have developed a new and innovative end to-end architecture for these solutions capable of leveraging the next generation high volume commodity radios, starting with Wi-Fi 7. This enables superior performance and a vastly lower cost point compared to all current "Last Mile" solutions.
